Charges Against Traditionalism

I’d like to charge Traditionalism with False Advertizing. Let me explain. There are axioms offered to us by traditionalism (also known as patriarchy). By themselves, they all seem to be reasonable, that is when they appear by themselves. But, put them into certain categories where they shine a dark light upon each other, and they look quite dangerous.
I’d like to suggest some categories which, I fear, are fitting, too well fitting, to be accidental. Categories of Traditionalism- they are- for men and women- of false security, and false condemnation.
Row #1
False Security for Men: “You get to be a leader”, and ain’t you a real somebody now.
False Condemnation for Men: “When others fail, it’s your fault.”
False Security for Women: “You get to be led by someone who will take care of you.”
False Condemnation for Women: “You can’t take care of yourself.”

Compare this with the security and commendation found in the Egalitarian view. For both men and women: “Trust him who said, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Trust him who said, ‘Fear not little flock, it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.’ Trust him who offers wisdom to all, freely, and courage, and purpose, and meaning, in Christ, where there is neither Jew nor Greek, neither bond nor free, neither male and female.”

Row #2
False Security for Men: “Prowess will make you famous.”
False Condemnation for Men: “You are just a lustful animal.”
False Security for Women: “Modesty will make you righteous”, even if you aren’t.
False Condemnation for Women: “You are the source of all temptation.”

Compare this with the security and the commendation found in the Egalitarian View. For both men and women: “Trust him who said, ‘To the pure, all things are pure’, and ‘Do not destroy anyone with your freedom, for whom Christ died’. And trust him who said, ‘Nevertheless, let each individual of you love his own wife, even as himself, and the same goes for the wife, loving her husband as she loves herself, in order to respect her husband.’ ”

Row # 3
False Security for Men: “You get to be a rugged individual.”
False Condemnation for Men: “You are isolated and lonely.”
False Security for Women: “You are a natural nurturer.”
False Condemnation for Women: “If others don’t feel nurtured, you have failed.”

Compare this with the security and commendation of the Egalitarian View. For both men and women: “Trust him who said, ‘Stand firm therefore, in the freedom wherewith Christ set you free, and don’t be entangled again with the yoke of bondage.’ And trust him who said, ‘Bear one another’s crushing burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ—and every person will bear their own individual burden.’ ‘For, we are members of one another.’ “

I love your message. The words: ‘Nevertheless, let each individual of you love his own wife, even as himself, and the same goes for the wife, loving her husband as she loves herself, in order to respect her husband.’ – is that a paraphrasing of Eph 5:33?

Excellent. My only adjustment would be to not call the opposing view egalitarian, but the Biblical view. However, I do understand that the hierarchalist/patriarchalists do that to egals. And it then becomes a dispute over which is really Biblical. And IMO believers should be taking everything they hear and read to the Scriptures and diligently search the Scriptures to see which is indeed true. The problem with that is that most Bible teachers and pastors do not teach their congregations HOW to study Scriptures in context, so this leaves most believers stuck with their own reasoning, which is how we got into this mess in the first place.
